A Sociology graduate of Mimar Sinan University, Nesime Kantar began practicing Ebru at Caferağa Medresesi with calligrapher and marbling artist Ayla Makas.

In 2001, she continued her Ebru training with Yılmaz Eneş and studied traditional bookbinding with Serra Güney Özkan. She later studied miniature painting with Emine Navruz and Leyla Kara.

According to the previous website, she has continued her work at her own Galatart studio since 2009.
